On Tuesday, June 17 N.C. Highway Patrol Officer David Shawn Blanton Jr. was killed in the line of duty. He was shot after pulling over Edward Wong II for a traffic violation on I-40 near Canton, NC. [read the entire story]
Blanton is survived by his wife, Michaela Layman Blanton and their two-week old child.
